Lincoln Animal Ambassadors offers a low-cost spay/neuter program for those unable to pay the full cost of altering their pet. Spaying/Neutering pets has long been cited as one of the best ways to prevent animal homelessness.
Lincoln Animal Ambassadors also operates a pet food bank to provide temporary assistance to people for their pets. Companion animals and their people often rely on each other for their mental and physical well-being, so this program helps prevent the trauma that results for both the pets and their people when they cannot afford to feed, care for or keep their pets. Research shows that one of the most frequent reasons animals are surrendered to shelters and rescues is that owners are unable to afford food. In many cases, this is due to a short term event, such as temporary unemployment. Short term assistance is exactly what they need to keep their pet out of a shelter.
Lincoln Animal Ambassadors also promotes Low Cost Vaccination Clinics in our community.
Lincoln Animal Ambassadors is committed to creating positive change for local companion animals, and we firmly believe that change come through education. We address common questions pet owners have and highlight many community resources on our Blog. We can also present information about the importance of spaying/neutering and responsible companion animal care within the community. Contact us for more information.
